Computer Tech in Air Force Association's CyberPatriot competition
On Friday, January 11, 2019, Computer Information Systems (Computer Tech) had three teams of students compete in the State Round of the Air Force Association's CyberPatriot Competition (right here in our CIS classroom at BHR) alongside thousands of other high schoolers across the nation. This is CIS’ first time entering a competition of this magnitude. The students competed for a rigorous six hours. We are truly proud of them for taking on such a challenging competition and having fun stopping a fictitious computer hacker from hacking into the system. All three teams placed in the Silver ranking and are awaiting word on whether they will advance to the next round.
In photo, the competitors from left to right: Robert Conley (arms folded), Camden Gillis, Robert Nguyen, Jahlecia Venus-McLean, Rose Dacey, Patrick Morrill, Eric Johnson, Cameron Millar, Tyreese Jacobs, Jovan Dunbar (1 all-girls team, 2 boys’ teams.) Not shown in photo: Taylor Jones, Zachary Mar and Robert Chicco.
We have exciting news. One team has made it to the semi-finals!!!!!!! They will compete on February 1, 2019 here at Blue Hills.
