Military
Some students choose to join the military to serve their country, to gain experience for a future civilian career, to help pay for college, to honor a family tradition--some join right after high school, others through their colleges (ROTC and Military Academies). Military service can be part-time or full-time.
ASVAB
The ASVAB is a vocational aptitude placement exam offered by the Armed Services to all students, required of all Armed Services applicants. Typically offered at BHR each spring, it measures verbal, math, technical (electronics, automotive, tool terminology, shop practices, mechanical principles) and spatial aptitudes. This information can be useful in helping to choose careers and college majors, as well as determining your military role if you enlist. Taking the ASVAB does not commit you to military service.
