After graduating BHR:
- Attended Curry College 2020-2024, earned a Bachelors of Science BS in Public Health
- Currently, working as an EMT for Dedham EMS
- NREMT--BLS (National Registry of EMT’s --Basic Life Support)
- AHA-BLS (American Heart Association-Basic Life Support)
My time at Blue Hills prepared me by providing a framework to engaging with patients in accordance with healthcare protocols and guidelines, as well as with the utmost compassion necessary to provide comprehensive medical care to those in critical, high acuity scenarios.
I had the opportunity to learn basic first aid, proper infection control practices, engage with professionals within my field, and obtain firsthand experience in the field via the BHR Co-Op program in my senior year. Shea was on the lacrosse team and e-sports.
Advice to Blue Hills Students
Make the most of your time at BHR. Mine and my peers’ time was cut short due to the pandemic. Though this devastating time period ravaged our senior year together, it had also prepared me for the worst within my line of work and provided me with a unique perspective and experiences that prepared me to do my job with more love, compassion, and skill that I would not have obtained otherwise.
