What clubs and activities did you participate in while you were a student at Blue Hills?

How did your time at Blue Hills prepare you for what you are doing now?

My time at Blue Hills greatly prepared and influenced me for a future education and career in interior design by being in the Drafting/CAD program! The computer programs I learned and the projects that we did during my time in Drafting gave me a greater understanding of the architecture & interior design world and further pushed me to enter the interior design field. Of course, my time at Blue Hills cannot be accounted for without mentioning the guidance and support of both Mr. Sheehan and Mr. McGrath. I think fondly of my time at Blue Hills and without the Drafting program, I’m not sure I’d be where I am today.

What advice would you give to BHR students?

For those who are in the shoes that I was in not too long ago myself, I encourage current BHR students to take their vocational program seriously and put forth the same effort and determination you would if this were your real job! The vocational programs and professors have such a great knowledge and understanding of the field you’re exploring and it’s important you absorb all the information they have to offer. I often think of my career having started once I entered the Drafting/CAD program because a lot of the knowledge I learned there I still use in my professional career today!
