How did your time at Blue Hills prepare you for what you are doing now?

My time at Blue Hills taught me the importance of empathy and hard work. I met many people who were different from me in many ways, but something we all shared in common was work ethic. Many of my close friends from Blue Hills, who I am still close with today, pushed me to work hard, learn more, and be the best, most authentic, version of myself. The teachers at Blue Hills instilled empathy in me, influencing my communication and collaboration skills and guiding my career choices.

What advice would you give to BHR students?

Two things: Firstly, don't hesitate to seek help. It's okay not to know everything. Ask your teachers questions and do your best to learn as much as you can from others. They may have experiences or perspectives you never considered. Second, give yourself grace. You are going to make mistakes and that is awesome. It is what makes life worth living. Nothing is ever that serious. If you make a mistake learn from it and keep going.
