Blue Hills welcomes new District School Committee members
Superintendent Jill Rossetti is pleased to announce the election of four new members to the Blue Hills Regional Technical School’s District School Committee.
The District School Committee consists of nine representatives from each of the towns of Avon, Braintree, Canton, Dedham, Holbrook, Milton, Norwood, Randolph and Westwood.
New to the committee this year is Clinton Graham representing the Town of Milton, Rachelle Jeanty representing the Town of Randolph, Sheila Vazquez representing the Town of Westwood and Taryn Mohan representing the Town of Holbrook. They join incumbents Thomas R. Polito, Jr. representing the Town of Dedham, Aidan Maguire representing the Town of Canton, Eric Erskine representing the Town of Braintree, Francis Fistori representing the Town of Avon, and Kevin Connolly (re-elected) representing the Town of Norwood to complete the 56th District School Committee.
“We would like to extend a warm welcome to our four newly elected district school committee officials and congratulate our re-elected official, Kevin Connolly,” Superintendent Rossetti said. “Our school committee is reflective of the communities in which they serve and I know they will do a great job in ensuring that their communities’ voices are heard.”
Clinton Graham, Representing the Town of Milton
Clinton Graham, who will represent the Town of Milton, currently works as a real estate agent for Seaport Realty Group, where he oversees sales and rentals for residential properties.
Prior to this position, Graham served as a correctional officer for the Norfolk Sheriff's Office from 2015 to 2017 and was a professional football player in the European Leagues from 2006 to 2013.
"I find it vitally important to bring my experiences to the table," Graham said. "Committees that are comprised of people with diverse backgrounds and experiences will undoubtedly strengthen the effectiveness of providing superior quality to those they serve. I eagerly look forward to adding value to the Blue Hills Regional School Committee and working together for a school system that offers their students the
ability to thrive."
Rachelle Jeanty, Representing the Town of Randolph
Rachelle Jeanty, who will represent the Town of Randolph, currently serves as the outreach director for Educators for Excellence Boston, a non-profit organization that develops educators to be leaders in their classrooms and communities.
Jeanty holds a master's degree in public administration from the University of Massachusetts Boston, a bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, and a graduate certificate from the University of Massachusetts Boston.
She is also extremely active within the Town of Randolph, volunteering in her free time with the Mass Cultural Council and the Randolph Resiliency Committee.
Sheila Vazquez, Representing the Town of Westwood
Sheila Vazquez, who will represent the Town of Westwood, currently works for Norwood Public Schools at the Cleveland and Oldham Elementary Schools as a Title 1 Reading Teacher. Prior to this role, Vazquez worked in the Pragmatic Learning Center at the Cleveland Elementary School from 2014-2017.
Vazquez holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in early childhood education from Boston College. She has been a resident of Westwood for 25 years and currently resides there with her husband and four sons. Two of her sons are Blue Hills Regional Technical School alumni and her youngest son is a currently a sophomore at Blue Hills.
"I look forward to working with the committee, students, parents and staff in this new position," Vazquez said. "I am excited to work with the committee to continue to provide and grow the solid academic and technical foundation that Blue Hills Regional has provided for my children."
Taryn Mohan, Representing the Town of Holbrook
Mohan, who will represent the Town of Holbrook, graduated from Blue Hills Regional Technical School's Culinary Arts program in 1996. Following her graduation, Mohan went on to attend the prestigious Culinary Institute of America, in Hyde Park, New York, to further continue her culinary arts education.
In 2005, after numerous positions within the restaurant industry, Mohan traveled to France where she worked under many master chefs in Michelin-starred restaurants. In 2015, Mohan returned to Holbrook, where she purchased her childhood home, with her husband and two sons.
Since her return, Mohan has been actively involved in the Blue Hills Regional Technical School's Culinary Arts program.
All new District School Committee members attended their first meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 17.
"I am extremely pleased to welcome these new individuals to our committee," District School Committee Chairman Tom Polito said. "We look forward to having four new members with diverse backgrounds complete our committee this year. Working with those who have attended and whose children attended Blue Hills will give us a great, new perspective as well."
