BHR Students Celebrate Warrior Pride During Spirit Week and Homecoming Activities

Blue Hills Regional football team defeated Diman Regional Vocational Tech High School (30-24).

Superintendent Jill Rossetti and Principal Geoff Zini are pleased to share that Blue Hills Regional Technical School Students recently participated in a variety of Homecoming and Spirit Week activities. 

Spirit Week at Blue Hills Regional Technical School was held from Oct. 10 to Oct. 20, with themed days throughout the week. 

Themes for the week included: 

  • Monday: Twin Day
  • Tuesday: Celebrity Day
  • Wednesday: Blue Hills Color Day
  • Thursday: Dress as a BBQ Dad and Soccer Day
  • Friday: Team Jersey Day
  • Monday: Decades Day

The event culminated with a pep rally on Thursday, Oct. 12, where students wore school colors and participated in a variety of games, including a football team limbo contest, a balloon pop race and an inflatable unicorn race.

School spirit continued to flow as students, staff and community members gathered on the football field for the homecoming football game, where the Blue Hills RVT Football team defeated Diman Regional Vocational Tech High School (30-24).

Spirt week continued with a Homecoming Dance on Friday, Oct. 13, where 350 Blue Hills students danced and dined the night away. Blue Hills Student Council provided snacks and beverages throughout the evening. 

During the Homecoming Dance, Freshman Jeliyah Monterio was named Homecoming Queen and Junior Joe Goggin was named Homecoming King.

Spirit Week concluded with Senior Photos on Friday, Oct. 20. 

“Spirit Week is something the entire Blue Hills community looks forward to every year,” said Principal Zini. “Our students and staff fully embraced their Blue Hills spirit this year and had a great time embracing what it means to be a Warrior!” 

Athletics

Varsity Golf

The Blue Hill Boys JV/Varsity Golf team was undefeated this season, with Coach Gearty winning Coach of the Year by the Mayflower League and Sophomore Alex Dennehy being named Player of the Year in the Mayflower League North Division. 

Varsity Girls Soccer 

Under the direction of Coach Flynn, the Blue Hills RVT Girls Soccer team was undefeated this season at 11-0-2. 

Varsity Boys Soccer

Under the direction of Head Coach Quinn Petters, the Blue Hills RVT Varsity Boys Soccer team is 6-4-1 on the season.

Varsity Girls Volleyball

Under the direction of Head Coach Melissa Taksar, the Blue Hills RVT varsity volleyball team is 4 – 11 on the season.

Varsity Football

Under the direction of Head Coach Edward Madden, the Blue Hills RVT Football team is 4 – 2 on the season.

Cheerleading

Under the direction of Head Coach Kim Poliseno, with the assistance of Matt Manders, and Erin Young, the Blue Hill High School Cheerleading team is going full bore, leading the school spirit on and off the field.
