Cosmetology

Students in the Cosmetology program are familiarized with the basic fundamentals of hairstyling, skin care and nail care. They learn shampooing, scalp treatment, manicuring, facial massage, hair analysis, hair styling, finger waving, precision hair cutting, hair coloring, chemical hair relaxing, thermal waving, curling and blow drying. Instruction will include sterilization, sanitation, and the use of electrical apparatus. Students will be prepared to apply for the State Board of Hairdressing written and practical examination upon completion of this program.

The Cosmetology program at Blue Hills has the largest up-to-date salon in the area. Upon completion of 250 hours, students will perform supervised work on customers.
