On Thursday March 21, 2019, the Blue Hills Criminal Justice program had a chance to tour Gillette Stadium with two members from TeamOps. Students were given an inside tour of the facility which started in the service tunnel under the stadium out to the field. We then went to the command center were they can coordinate with video cameras and help protect over 70,000 people at events.
After that we were taken to the Press Box for some information on how the security team got involved in this industry, and what their responsibilities are at the stadium. Students also learned about the "code of conduct" for patrons and had a great Q&A session with our tour guides. We even got a chance to try on one of the TeamOps "Superbowl 51" ring that is given to employees when the Patriots win the Super Bowl.
Special thanks to Joe Parr, Director of Security and Risk Management, for setting this up for our students. Also to Jonathan Morse (Event Manager Gillette/Harvard University) and Caitlyn O'Toole (Lead Event Manager, Gillette Stadium) for taking us on the tour and sharing their knowledge about this career path.
